The Battle
God has given us the power to win the battles in our lives, but are we walking in
the fullness of that power? The battles of life that we are faced in our everyday
lives are,
the battles of good or evil, God or Satan, obedience or disobedience and lastly
submission to or rebellion against God’s will for our lives. We can only win
these battles through the power of the Holy Spirit.
I am reminded of Samson and Delilah. Samson was so driven by his physical
passions that he was unable to fulfill the calling that God had on his life. God
called Samson not only to deliver Israel from the Philistines, but God also called
Samson to be a prophet, a ruler, and a judge, but he was driven by his lust for
Delilah. He was so bound by this relationship that he could not see that she
was really trying to destroy him. This is what Satan does to us; he draws us in
and when we are so caught up with the situation we can no longer see, hear, or
think about what it is doing to us and our love ones. We can’t even think about
the things of God and the more we play with sin the more of the Holy Spirit leaks
out until, He is no longer with us. Then we try to do the work of God, but we
can’t because Satan has us so bound and enslaved by the situation.
The Lord is saying before He can bless us this year 2006, we must let go of all the
Delilah’s in our lives that are driving us away from Him. This is our year saints
to be more victorious. But we can not be more victorious holding onto the things we
have placed before the Will of God in our lives. Only you know what those Delilah’s
are. You need to confess to the Lord and ask Him to help you. Romans 10:9-10says
That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart
that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved; [10] for with the heart
man believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses,
resulting in salvation.
We need to realize that Satan does not love us. He just wants to kill, steal, and destroy
us. He blinds us so we can’t see what’s going on. Yes even Christians. You will never
find happiness serving Satan or your Delilah. Jesus is the only one who can give you
true happiness, peace, strength and love. He is the one that died for you. God cannot
bless our lives like He wants to because we keep picking up our Delilah. Paul said “
when I want to do good evil is present”. When we fall into sin it takes us back out
of the place of blessing and we wonder why. This is how Satan steals our blessings.
I pray that this year 2006 your Delilah will not take you the way that Samson’s did.
Yes he did destroy the Philistines, but he die in the process not really coming into all
that God had for his life. His life was cut short. This does not have to be you this year
or ever again. The Word of God says Ephes. 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. You must know who your
enemy is to defeat him. Knowing this we must confess our sins and weakness to the Lord
and give Him total control of our lives. We need to pray until we are truly empowered
with the power of the Holy Spirit . The Holy Spirit does have the power to keep us
if we want to be kept. This is the question. Do you want to be kept? The choice is
yours. This is a very important part of the battles of life. You see we have the free
will to make our own life choices. Which will we chose; God’s will for our lives
or Satan’s? Samson chose the wrong way until the end and it destroyed him. The
Holy Spirit, The Word, prayer, and worship will help you make the right choices if
you allow the Holy Spirit to lead you. Give Jesus Christ your Delilah and be free.
